PONDA: The Ponda Market Vendors Association (Amchi Vyapari Sangatana) President Gauru Sawant along with its members, Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude on Monday met Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant and demanded to clear the encroachments by some vendors, who are illegally doing business on the footpaths and pathways outside Ponda Municipal Council Market.
Gauru informed that the vendors discussed their grievances with Chief Minister and the losses suffered by them due to encroachment by some vendors.
He said, “Due to the encroachments a lot of problems have been caused to the visitors and general public. People also refuse to enter the market and hence the vendors face huge losses.”
Following the discussion, the Chief Minister telephonically directed the Ponda Municipal Council Chief Officer to clear the encroachments on the footpaths in the market and clear the pathway in the interest of market vendors and general public.
