This connecting road to Alto Betim on the National Highway at Porvorim has been for years seeing piles of garbage in around 300 sq mts of prime location.
There is every type of wet and dry garbage dumped here and often one sees cattle and dogs rummaging in the filthy collection. In fact, the garbage spreads on both sides of this narrow connecting road. How is it even possible to have such a filthy, scattered garbage pile on a major highway, so close to the Assembly complex? Where is the Porvorim MLA and other elected leaders? How can they turn a blind eye to this condition? Shame on such elected representatives.
Do the aspirants who want Porvorim to wear the mantle of capital city ever pay attention to such neglect of Porvorim in general? Does our Chief Minister ever get to see these piles of filth? Maybe next time when our national leaders visit Goa, we should give them a tour of this area and show them how our beautiful Goa is in total neglect due to the indifference of its citizens and its leaders. Is it how we pay respect to Mother Nature? When will we ever learn to maintain cleanliness?
CCTV should be installed here to book the offenders. And if the government vehicles themselves are responsible for dumping garbage here, strict action needs to be taken to put an end to such rot once and for all. The government should immediately take initiatives to beautify this area by creating a garden on either side of the road which will probably stop this menace.
