Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar Demands Swift Action on Recurring Sewage Overflows Amid Growing Public Health Concerns

Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar on Friday drew urgent attention to persistent sewage overflows plaguing his constituency, demanding immediate government intervention during Zero Hour in the Goa Legislative Assembly’s Tenth Session.

Amonkar addressed Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, highlighting that the recurrent spills from sewer lines and chambers—specifically in hotspots such as Busy Bee School, GRB Colony, Headland Sada, Bogda, and Ward 9—are causing severe health and environmental hazards for residents. He warned that these issues have resulted in ongoing distress and raised the risk of disease and contamination. The MLA called for a concrete action plan, including desilting and repairs to infrastructure, strengthened maintenance routines, and robust measures to prevent recurring incidents.
