In a landmark move to enhance transparency and efficiency in government recruitment, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant announced that all future hiring in Goa will be conducted through computer-based examinations with instant results. The new system aims to eliminate procedural delays and ensure fair, merit-based selections — a key pillar of the state’s push for good governance.
The announcement came during the inauguration of the newly refurbished Goa Staff Selection Commission (GSSC) office at the Spaces Building in Patto, Panaji. Dr. Sawant was joined by senior officials including Dr. V. Candavelou (IAS) and Narayan Sawant (IAS Retd).

Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister emphasized that merit—not influence—will drive government appointments. He stated that the GSSC has already advertised for 752 vacancies across departments, of which 50 positions have been filled. Exams for the remaining posts are currently underway through the new digital format, which will offer real-time results and prevent manipulation or delays.
The revamped GSSC office and digital exam format reflect Goa’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and citizen trust. Dr. Sawant reaffirmed that these reforms represent a major stride toward merit-based, technology-driven public service recruitment in the state.
