Fernandes still on warpath with Ranes, says CMD of Dahej Minerals will approach court for action against them

PANJIM: Outgoing Congress president John Fernandes alleged that the mining lease applicant, the CMD of Dahej Minerals, B Naik, had complained to Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar against those extorting money from him Though distancing himself from the controversy, Fernandes nevertheless said that Naik will approach the court seeking direction to file FIR against the accused, if the Special Investigating Team fails to act against the culprits. “If this happens, it will open a Pandora’s box,” he said.

Fernandes said that SIT is investigating the matter and hence he would not like to comment anything but the lease granted to Naik was all legal and following Supreme Court and High Court orders.
Naik had accused former Chief Minister Rane and his son and sitting Congress MLA Vishwajit of demanding Rs 10 crore from him for granting a mining lease at Poriem, for which he had applied in 2004 and the same has not been granted till date. The matter is currently being investigated by SIT.
