MARGAO: The Maina Curtorim police are in a fix over the alleged kidnapping of a 15-year-old boy studying in Class IX at a local school in Davorlim.

Police said the boy was kidnapped by an unknown person from the legal guardianship of his parents on Saturday.
The boy’s family comprises father (a contractor), mother (housewife) and two sisters, one studying in a local school in Davorlim and the other in Margao school.
Police investigations revealed that the minor boy used to attend Arabic class in a nearby area for the past six years and at times he was dropped by his father on a scooter. Recently, his sister too joined the Arabic classes and sometimes their father would drop and collect them.
The police investigation further revealed that both the boy and his sister would attend the class between 3.30 pm and 6 pm and they would return home walking when their father failed to collect them.
The police said for the past few days, the boy was not regular in attending the class, however, his sister was regular.
One of the friends, informed the boy’s parents, that he was not attending the Arabic class regularly.
Police said based on that information, the father questioned the boy and apparently told him that if he was not interested in the classes, then he better stay at home.
On Saturday morning, the minor boy and his sister attended school in Davorlim and on the same day when the father dropped his daughter to Arabic class, since late Saturday afternoon, the boy was reported missing. The police then conducted a search at several locations to look out for the young boy.
Police said, after coming from school, the boy was at his residence, however, he was allegedly kidnapped from the house late Saturday afternoon.
Police said the boy’s father later lodged the complaint and based on his complaint an offence has been registered under Section 363 of the IPC and Section 8 of the Goa Children’s Act.
