PONDA: Ponda Police on Tuesday registered an offence against one 20-year-old girl from Virdi Sanquelim for causing injuries, over a love quarrel, to sister of her boyfriend residing, at Bethki-Marcel.

A case has been booked under Section 324, 447,504, 506 (II) of Indian Penal Code for causing injuries and abuse.
According to the police, there was friendship between Bethki-Marcel boy and Virdi Sanquelim girl. However, the police suspect that there was a love quarrel between the boyfriend and girlfriend when they met on Monday morning.
However, later at 2.30 pm, the girlfriend irked with their quarrel went to the boyfriend’s house at Bethki-Marcel to question him over their love issue. At that time, the boyfriend was not at his home. The girlfriend later approached boyfriend’s mother and asked to share her mobile to make a call. The mother refused her to give her mobile and so the girlfriend asked boyfriend’s sister to give mobile which she too refused to give.
This led to a quarrel between the girlfriend and boyfriend’s sister and in the process the girlfriend caused injuries to the boyfriend’s sister with glass of a broken bottle. Following this, the sister was shifted to Bethki Health Centre for treatment. Later, in the evening the sister, aged 28 years old, filed a police complaint against her brother’s girlfriend.
