PANJIM: Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders on Monday slammed the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) government for denying permission to use public address system to release the people’s charge sheet against the government at Azad Maidan, Panjim.
TMC senior vice-president Luizinho Faleiro said, “Government doesn’t understand democracy. Last Friday, we asked permission to release the charge sheet and told them that only press would be present. The Deputy Collector has denied us permission today.”
Asked about the possibility of denial of permission to hold events of TMC chairperson and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in the future, Faleiro said, “TMC are street fighters. Even if government denies permission we will take to the streets. No matter what repressive measures Goa government adopts against TMC and Mamata Banerjee, she is a street fighter. We will fight.”
TMC MP Saugata Roy condemned the undemocratic act of the BJP government in denying permission to release charge sheet.
