Truck driver escapes unhurt

A driver had a lucky escape, after the truck which he was driving dashed against an electricity pole at Farmagudi-Ponda on Sunday night.
According to Ponda Police, the truck was carrying plastic raw material from Verna Industrial Estate to Gujarat via Ponda. The truck driver lost control over the vehicle and collided against the electricity pole at Framagudi Circle.
Police further informed that the electricity pole along with power lines came down and the driver escaped unhurt. Though the truck driver was absconding, the transport contractor claimed that the driver was safe and will surrender.
Meanwhile, shifting of electricity pole and repair work on the power line is expected to cost over Rs 12,000.
