Truck driver stabbed in Mapusa

A 33-year-old goods carrier driver was seriously injured, after he was stabbed with a knife by a man in Mapusa Market yard on Wednesday at about 2.15 pm.
According to Mapusa Police, Imtiaz Hawaldar was stabbed with the sharp knife, after some verbal argument took place between the duo over some personal matter. The accused in a fit of anger stabbed Imtiaz with a sharp knife.
Police further informed that the accused, who was assisted by his two colleagues to commit the crime, fled from the site and are reported to be absconding.
Mapusa Police rushed to the spot and shifted injured Imtiaz, who was bleeding profusely, to Asilo Hospital in Mapusa. As the condition of the injured was serious, Imitiaz was referred to GMC Hospital at Bambolim for further treatment.
Mapusa Police have registered the offence against the three accused under Sections 341, 307 read with 34 of IPC. Police Sub Inspector Buimbar is investigating the case.
