VASCO: The Chairman of Goa Rehabilitation Board (GRB) MLA Alina Saldanha on Friday informed that the Board had received complaints about sub-letting premises allotted to the beneficiaries under rehabilitation scheme and would take necessary actions after verification.
Speaking to reporters after inspecting the GRB quarters at Headland, Sada in Mormugao, she said the Board had received complaints about sub-letting of units provided to the people under GRB’s rehabilitation scheme.
“Basically I came here to visit housing colonies that were built and allotted to the beneficiaries under the scheme and as the GRB chairperson I wanted to know whether the people living in these GRB housing facilities were facing any difficulties and whether these structures were maintained on time, besides other improvements required at the GRB colonies,” she said.
During my visit at Headland, Sada, I realised that the buildings are located very close to each other and the doors of some units open close to the internal roads, which posed risk to small children residing there, she said.
