MARGAO: The All Goa Catholic Minority Front (AGCMF) has faulted the police for the stone-pelting incident on the Carmelite Monastery, Margao.
The AGCMF said that though the police knew that similar incidents had taken place earlier during midnight worship, no adequate security was provided at the monastery and emphasised that had the police been there in adequate numbers such incident would not have taken place.
The AGCMF said that though local police were present during the incident, seriousness was not shown by the station in-charge.
AGCMF also demanded that police patrol should be intensified and watch should be maintained on suspicious persons making rounds near the chapel. Investigations should be completed speedily and the culprits must be arrested immediately, AGCMF said.
