MARGAO: Against the backdrop of a demand to desilt all water bodies in Navelim, residents of Mandopa have called for a stop to the construction of sewage chambers over underground springs.
At the recent gram sabha of Navelim, there was a discussion regarding the desilting of all water bodies, and while the focus was on preserving water resources, Mandopa residents had the added problem of a water shortage.
It is to be noted that along with the desilting of River Sal, the work of desilting the Salpem Lake has also begun.
Locals say a septic tank of a sewage network has been over the underground spring in Mandopa, Navelim.
