PANJIM: The State government has decided to appeal against the order of the High Court of Bombay at Goa, ordering to give the pensionary benefits with arrears to former State Chief Information Commissioner (SCIC) Prashant S P Tendolkar.

On August 1, the High Court had directed the State government to calculate the pensionary benefits and pay the arrears to Tendolkar within a period of three months from the date of the order.
However, the government has now contested that Tendolkar was never in pensionary service, both while as the Additional President of the Administrative Tribunal of Goa, Panjim, and the State Chief Information Commissioner.
When contacted, Advocate General Devidas Pangam said, “The State government has decided to challenge the High Court order in Supreme Court. The government will challenge it.”
The government was alerted after former Congress president Girish Chodankar filed a complaint with the Chief Secretary Dr V Candavelou, IAS Tendolkar, for ‘falsely’ claiming benefits of pension.
