AGONDA: The construction of a road on communidade land at Agonda generated much heat during the gram sabha on Sunday.
The locals were agitated as the construction was going as despite the High Court directives not to carry out any development related work until the next order was passed. This amounts to contempt of court, the villagers said.

Sarpanch Fatima Rodrigues said that the work of the respective road in Vaal-Ambyatalkat region which is being built by PWD, has been currently stopped.
The meeting presided by sarpanch and it is for the first time that all 7 panchas had attended it. BDO’s Kunda Naik was present for the meet as an inspector.
Locals alleged that the electricity department workers were unprofessional when it came to work and also called on the panchayat to resolve the water scarcity in the village.
