PANJIM: Several law students in the State have been left in the lurch as Goa University (GU) has delayed declaring results of the re-evaluation, even as the examination for the backlog subjects is scheduled for October 4.
The University is yet to declare the re-evaluation results of BA LLB & LLB Degree holders, whose examinations were conducted in April 2018. Several students had applied for re-evaluation of their answer sheets.
In a letter to the Controller of Examination, National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) has pointed out that the University had promised to declare the results on September 19, however, no results are out. They said that the examination of the backlog subject commences from Oct 4.
NSUI said that as per GU website, the results of such re-evaluation have to be declared in approximately 60 days of filing of application. “The examination of the April results were declared on June 29 and more than 60 days have passed since the applications were made,” NSUI said.
NSUI pointed out that even in the previous semester, the same results were only declared two days before the backlog exams were about to begin and that too was only done upon they threatening to call for a protest.
