MARGAO: Sucaldem Youth Club rallied to beat DBM, Dandeavaddo 3-1 and cruise into the quarter-finals of Chinchinim Villagers football tournament organized by Union of Chinchinim Villagers at church ground, Chinchinim, Tuesday. Sucaldem led 2-1 at half time
DBM began well and took the lead in the 10th minute when Vincy Fernandes slotted past the rival goalkeeper with a stiff grounder off a pass from Manfred Fernandes.
Unfazed, Sucaldem regrouped quickly and enjoyed the lion’s share of ball possession. Allot Antao neutralized the lead with a pile driver. Allot, who was in the thick of action, struck for the second time to give his team the lead in the 18th minute.
Stung by deficit, DBM galvanized their attacks and raided the rival goal but to no avail.
After the break, Sucaldem continued to dictate terms and troubled the rival defence with well orchestrated raids. Wendly Antao drove the final nail into the rival coffin late in the second half.
Manfred Fernandes of DBM was adjudged man-of-the-match.
