RAIA: The GFA 1st Division League encounter between Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim and Cuncolim Union concluded in a 2-2 stalemate at the Benaulim ground, on Wednesday.
Asfin Pinto of Cavelossim showcased exceptional ball control and delivered powerful shots, earning him the spotlight in the match. Meanwhile, Hanslum Furtado of Cuncolim gave a commendable performance.

In the 3rd minute, Asfin Pinto redeemed himself after an earlier missed opportunity, scoring the opening goal for Cavelossim with a formidable long-range shot. However, the joy was short-lived as Cuncolim’s Dezwin Dias equalised in the 7th minute with a well-placed long-range shot. Asfin Pinto narrowly missed another chance shortly after.
Approaching the end of the first half, Hanslum Furtado of Cuncolim squandered an opportunity to score. In the 46th minute, Arun Shankar Naik of Cuncolim missed a chance, and Cavelossim seized the opportunity to net their second goal in the 48th minute through substitute striker Semson Fernandes, who executed a glancing header. Norman Dias of Cavelossim had a near miss in the 66th minute, blocked by the Cuncolim goalkeeper, while Arun Shankar Naik equalised for Cuncolim in the same minute, bringing the score to 2-2.
Despite a brilliant attempt by Norman Dias of Cavelossim later in the game, his shot sailed over the crossbar of Cuncolim. The match ultimately concluded in a 2-2 draw.
Nuvem SC down Mandopa
Nuvem SC defeated Mandopa Sporting Club, 2-0, in the GFA 1st division league match played at Rosary Church ground, Navelim. Cedar Colaco gave lead to Nuvem SC in the 16th minute of the match and later Amit Naik doubled the lead in the 57th minute.
