PANJIM: Orixtt Porjecho Avaz (OPA) has criticised Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar’s tirade against those opposing DefExpo saying it is understandable as his political ambitions and his survival in the Ministry could depend on Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar.
OPA has submitted a memorandum to the concerned authorities and request the Tourism Minister to have a look at it and then let them know if they are opposing the project “just for the sake of opposing it”, OPA spokesperson Freddy Fernandes said.
“The whole process through which this issue has been handled is rather suspicious because none of the people involved have come out clear or clean nor has a project report been submitted, which is mandatory for every project even before it starts, which in itself raises more questions than answers,” he said.
RTI responses show a request for a full fledged airport with a 10,000 ft runway, he added.
