According to police, she was admitted to Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on October 21 after her parents noticed that she was throwing up.
She breathed her last at GMC on Tuesday. Sources at Mapusa Police station said her statement has been recorded.
She had said in her statement that she was embarrassed after caught copying in the internal exams last week.
The 16-year old victim was a student of ***Dyanprasarak High School*** Mapusa.
Sources said the school management had called her parents she was caught copying. They had also took an undertaking from her. A probe has been ordered. Police Inspector of Mapusa Police Station Tushar Lotlikar said a case of unnatural death was registered which will be further probed.
At present there is no complaint of any abetment to commit suicide from anyone at the police station, he informed.
