PANJIM: Goa’s Anura Prabhu Desai, who is the brand ambassador of Geno Pharmaceuticals reached the semi-finals in the Girls Singles U-19 event at the 24th Krishna Khaitan Memorial All-India Junior Ranking Badminton tournament, Chandigarh, recently.
Anura defeated eighth seeded Ashmita Chaliha of Assam (21-18 14-21 21-18), followed by Karishma Wadkar of Maharashtra (21-17 13-21 21-17). She defeated Yeshaswini Nandanoori (21-10 25-23) to reach the semi-finals to take on second seeded Shikha Gautam of Karnataka.
