A 20-year-old man, identified as Mahir alias Imran,
was fatally stabbed for allegedly conversing with a girl he had befriended on
Instagram In Northeast Delhi’s Gokalpuri area. The body of Mahir was discovered
on a roadside in Bhagirathi Vihar on Wednesday, showing signs of multiple stab
wounds. Mahir, a resident of Ghaziabad, worked at a flex board shop in central
Delhi’s Pahar Ganj.
On Friday morning, Deputy Commissioner of Police
(North East) Joy Tirkey stated that Arman Khan (18), Faisal Khan (21), and
Sameer alias Baloo (19) were apprehended in Gokalpuri in connection with the
murder.According to Tirkey, Mahir and Armaan had been in contact with a girl
they befriended on Instagram. A recent confrontation occurred when Mahir found
the girl talking to Arman on a video call, leading to an exchange of abusive
words. Following the dispute, Arman confiscated the girl’s mobile phone,
threatening her against communicating with Mahir. On the day of the murder,
Arman lured Mahir by claiming to return the girl’s phone, only to fatally stab
him upon his arrival at the location along with Faisal and Sameer. The three
suspects, part-time labourers residing in Gokalpuri, have been taken into
custody by the police.
