Girl rescued after jumping off Borim bridge

PONDA: In yet another incident of attempted suicide, a 17-year-old girl from Ponda jumped off the Borim Bridge on Friday afternoon, only to be rescued by fishermen.

According to reports, the girl reportedly jumped off the Borim Bridge at about 2.30 pm. The fishermen rescued the girl and brought her to the shore. She was shifted to Hospicio in Margao and is reported to be recovering.

It may be recalled that in March, a similar incident was reported and fishermen from the area had rescued a 22-year-old youth from Ponda.
