Why there is a high rate of accidents in Goa? Goa has recorded 377 accidents in the first 50 days of the new year 2023. Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant stated that people in Goa do not follow the rules. Sawant claimed that people drink and drive and haphazardly overtake.
Most accidents are caused by overspeeding, drunken driving & irresponsible behaviour, Goa Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho has claimed. He said that in North Goa itself, police have given over 3500 fines. He also said his dept was working on removing black spots but people have to follow rules he insisted. NGOs working on road safety gave their suggestions on how to save lives.
