Friday night saw fans of FC Goa experience déjà vu as the Delhi Dynamos took with them a significant advantage heading into the second leg semi-final of the Hero Indian Super League. The fans fear faltering at the penultimate stage, just as they did last season. Having organised a screening of the first leg of the semi-final for the club’s fans, founder member of The Football Dug Out, Conrad Barreto feels, “The game was a close one with end to end stuff. With Rafael fit and looking at the difference he made in the last quarter when he came on, we are set for an exciting semi-final in Goa. Hopefully we can seize the comeback in style and not leave it too late. A lot will depend on the fans’ support for this game. They will play an important role in the team’s performance.” However, all is not lost, as many of the club’s followers accept that there is everything to play for. FC Goa are now trailing 1-0, after the first leg that was played in Delhi on Friday. The clash in Goa on December 15 leaves Goa needing two goals to go through to the final, with one goal pushing it to extra time, and perhaps penalties.
