PANJIM: The Tourism Season was better than 2023-24, but due to proliferation of hotels and holiday villas, the tourists were divided. Four and Five starred hotels saw full occupancy. Charters almost doubled however, the season is yet to touch the pre covid levels, stakeholders said.
Ernest Dias, Tour Operator said that this time Goa had more charters, which was almost double of 2023-24 season. New Charters came from Poland, plus charters came from Russia, Khazakhstan, Uzbekistan, plus the regular English Charters. This time however, there are more hotels, villas and hence the tourists were spread out. However, four and five starred hotels did well.
Santosh Diukar, President of Small and Medium Hoteliers Association of Goa said that the tourist season was stable. There was neither profit nor loss. Internationally, there has been a decline due to wars, falling markets and also games played by China to spoil India’s tourism.
Jack Sukhija, President of Travel and Tourism Association of Goa said, the tourism season was as good as the 2023-24 season. At the same time my opinion is that Goa should not be oversold.
Savio Messias, Former President of Travel and Tourism Association of Goa said the tourism season was decent. Foreign tourists have grown. This time we had the Polish Charters. However, we have not touched the pre-Covid levels.
