CURTORIM: Lawren Fernandes scored a double hat-trick as Panchwadi United Sports Club registered a resounding 9-0 win over Ave Maria AWC in the GFA U-18 League match, played at Curtorim ground, on Saturday.
It took almost 40 minutes for Panchwadi United to break the deadlock through Lawren. After opening the scores, Panchwadi’s Lawren Fernandes scored two quick goals to complete his hat-trick. Crossing over, it was one-way traffic as Panchawadi scored at regular interval in the second-half. Lawren scored four more goals while Xavier, Furtado and Fraden Gomes netted a goal each for the winners to take the final goal tally to nine goals.

In another match at Rosary ground, Velsao Pale SC came from behind scoring three goals in the final quarter to beat CRSC Navelim 4-3.Velsao took the lead in the 24th minute through Trijoy Lucas. After much
pressing, CRSC Navelim finally scored the equalizer goal through Nash Pereira. The teams were tied 1-1at the half-time break. In the second-half, Nash Lucas put Navelim ahead in the game before Emam Aadkahavar scored the third to make it 3-1. In the 75th minute, Milton Gomindes pulled a goal back for Velsao and made it all square in the 85th minute completing his brace. Finally in
the 89th minute, Velsao’s Rahul helped stage a dramatic comeback by netting the match-winner in the 89th minute.
