Chief Minister Pramod Sawant visited the scene of a dramatic dacoity at a doctor’s residence in Ganesh Puri, Mapusa, leaving the local community deeply unsettled. He assured residents that the Goa Police are actively investigating the incident and vowed that such audacious robberies would not be tolerated, highlighting his government’s commitment to public safety.
In the early hours, masked assailants broke into the doctor’s home, tied up family members, and stole cash and jewellery worth around ₹50 lakh. They also made off with the family’s car, which was later abandoned in Old Goa. Authorities described the robbery as meticulously planned, executed by experienced criminals. Forensic teams and technical experts quickly arrived to collect evidence from the abandoned vehicle, underscoring the seriousness of the investigation.

Chief Minister Sawant stated that preliminary inquiries suggest the robbers were from outside Goa and operated in a highly professional manner.
