Morjim Celebrates Diwali with Fun Competitions and Cultural Festivities at Dadoba Devasthan

Diwali was celebrated with great enthusiasm in front of the Morjim Dadoba Devasthan, as Shree Satpurush Sports & Cultural Club organized a series of engaging competitions and cultural activities for the local community.

Events included toran-making from flowers and leaves, eco-friendly akaash kandil competitions, poha-based dish contests, coconut breaking, musical chairs, and ball-throwing games. The festivities were inaugurated with speeches by the Dadoba Devasthan President, Satpurush Sports Club President Amit Shetgaonkar, kirtankar, and former panch V. G. Shetgaonkar.

Prize distribution was overseen by Morjim Sarpanch Vilas Morje, former Sarpanch Surekha Shetgaonkar, former Panch V. G. Shetgaonkar, PSI Aadit Gad, Club Vice President Anil Gad, Club Secretary Samir Shetgaonkar, and artists Vijaya Shetgaonkar, Deepraj Phadte, and Hiru Shetgaonkar.

Winners included Suraj Shetgaonkar for Akaash Kandil and coconut breaking, Sonal Shetgaonkar for the most attractive toran, and Hiru Shetgaonkar for the best Chaturthi decoration and Morjai temple theme.

The event highlighted community spirit, creativity, and traditional celebration, making Diwali 2025 a memorable occasion for Morjim residents.
