The Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Sattari, has convicted and sentenced Vishal Govind Zarmekar, a resident of Nanoda, Sattari, to one year of imprisonment and a fine of 500 for his involvement in a theft at Shree Brahmadev Devasthan, Brahmakarmali, Valpoi.
According to the Valpoi Police, the incident took place on the night of May 27, when an unidentified person broke open the lock of the donation box placed in front of the Garbhakud (sanctum) of the temple and stole around 30,000 in cash. A case was registered the next day under BNS 2023 at Valpoi Police Station.

Vishal was apprehended within 24 hours, on May 29, by the Valpoi Police team. The case was charge-sheeted within 44 days of the offence being registered.
