48-Year-Old Man Accused of Raping 3 Minor Girls in Odisha’s Malkangiri District; Police Launch Manhunt

Tension gripped MV-72 village under MV-79 police station limits in Odisha’s Malkangiri district after a 48-year-old man allegedly raped three minor girls by luring them with the promise of ice-cream. The shocking incident reportedly took place on Monday evening and came to light the next day when the victims’ families filed a police complaint.

According to sources, the accused invited the girls to his house while they were playing in the village and sexually assaulted them. The incident surfaced after the children narrated their ordeal to their families, prompting the parents to lodge a written complaint at the MV-79 police station.

Following the complaint, police registered a case and launched an investigation. MV-79 police station Inspector-in-Charge Chandrasekhar Tandi described the allegations as “very serious” and confirmed that the victims had undergone medical examinations. “A special team has been formed to trace and arrest the accused, who is currently absconding,” Tandi said, adding that police are also collecting details about the suspect’s background and movements.

The incident has sparked outrage in the local community. The mother of one of the victims demanded strict punishment, stating that the accused had not only assaulted the children but also threatened them to keep silent. The victims are aged five, six, and seven.

Authorities have assured that all legal procedures are being followed and that the investigation will be carried out swiftly to ensure justice for the survivors.
