Rane Declines Comment on Tiger Reserve Proposal, Says Matter Lies with Supreme Court

Responding to questions on the Central Empowered Committee’s (CEC) recommendation to declare a tiger reserve in Goa, Forest Minister Vishwajit Rane said he could not offer any remarks as the issue is currently sub judice.

“We have to abide by whatever the Supreme Court decides — it is binding on us,” Rane stated. He added that the committee appointed by the Supreme Court “must be respected,” and assured that the Goa government will thoroughly examine the views and reports submitted by the panel.
