MAPUSA: St Savio’s SC, Calangute, had an easy outing registering 3-0 win over Dunes SC, Mandrem, in the St Anthony’s Cup organised by St Anthony’s SC, Marna-Siolim, at the Siolim ground, on Thursday.
The first half saw St Savio’s SC take the lead, but not before Dunes SC missed a golden opportunity.
A superb cross from Dunes SC’s Dranesh Ashwekar found Sanmesh Rahul, who shot skywards with an open goal in front.
St Savio’s SC immediately capitalised on this let-off when Fasel D’Souza drilled a hot-blooded shot into the net, putting St Savio’s SC 1-0 up at the break.
In the second half, St Savio’s SC sealed the victory with two quick goals. Dominic Fernandes scored the second, converting a precise cross from Tanay Kerkar, with Minguel Silveira striking the third to complete the 3-0 rout.
