Holy Family School, a sister concern of Holy Family Nazareth Educational Society, Sancoale, Goa, located in Seraulim, recently hosted its Annual Day celebration at the picturesque Seraulim Church ground. The event was centred around the resounding theme, Nurture Nature for a Better Future.
The formal programme commenced with the auspicious traditional lighting of the lamp by the esteemed dignitaries. The Manager, Sr Flavia Leitao, welcomed the gathering, following which the dignitaries were presented with tokens of gratitude and potted plants, symbolising the theme of nurturing life.

A spectacular showcase of student talent followed, with performances trained by creative and talented teachers, subtly underscoring the principles of environmental stewardship and Goan culture. Demonstrating the students’ comprehensive training, the entire event was smoothly compered by the children themselves, without the aid of notes or paper. Teacher Monica, who trained them, supported the programme with fillers as the students actively participated.
The Chief Guest, Dr Celso Fernandes, a well-known figure in Goa who transitioned from a successful dental career of 27 years to becoming a “Financial Doctor” and mutual fund distributor with NJ Wealth and Nave Marg Financial Services, delivered a crucial address. Dr Fernandes applauded the students and teachers, offering sharp and practical motivation to both parents and children.
He highlighted two essential forms of nurturing. Addressing students, he stressed the practical importance of financial saving, while urging parents to view financial discipline, like academic discipline, as a core life skill necessary for a better future. He emphasised that true success does not come from marks alone, but from recognising and nurturing the full spectrum of natural gifts and practical life skills.
The evening concluded with the ceremonial distribution of awards, recognising students for outstanding yearly performance across academics and co-curricular activities—key elements of a well-rounded education. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Teacher Sharon Monserrate.
Holy Family School’s Annual Day successfully blended artistic celebration with an urgent message: just as we must nurture the environment for tomorrow, we must nurture the unique talents of our children today.
