Once infamous for its red-light history and crime, Baina Beach has undergone a remarkable transformation to become one of Goa’s most popular destinations for water sports and leisure activities. The beach now regularly hosts spiritual gatherings, yoga festivals and New Year celebrations, reflecting its new image as a vibrant tourism and cultural hub.
Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar said the turnaround marks a proud chapter for the area and assured that further development is on the way. “We will beautify the beach and bring in more projects,” he said, adding that the government aims to make Baina an attractive and family-friendly tourist spot.
Locals and visitors alike say the beach’s revival has given the area a fresh identity, drawing both adventure enthusiasts and wellness seekers to its shores.
