Villagers from Chimbel opposing the proposed Unity Mall project have decided not to meet Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant today, stating that their core demand to scrap the project remains unresolved despite multiple interactions with the government.
The agitators said they have already met the Chief Minister on three earlier occasions, but no concrete assurance has been given on cancelling the Unity Mall project. They added that they would first hold internal discussions among themselves before deciding on the next course of action.
The villagers have sought more time and demanded that the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the Unity Mall project, along with copies of the site survey minutes, be made available to them for review.
Reiterating their stand, the agitators also made it clear that the Maha-Andolan scheduled for January 30 will go ahead as planned, signalling that their protest against the project will continue until their demands are addressed.
