MP Government May Seek More Time in SC on Prosecution Sanction Against Vijay Shah

The Madhya Pradesh government is likely to seek additional time from the Supreme Court to take a final decision on granting prosecution sanction against cabinet minister Vijay Shah, sources said on Saturday. The matter relates to Shah’s controversial remarks made last May against Indian Army Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, who had briefed the media during ‘Operation Sindoor’ following India’s counterstrike on terror bases.

Shah once again expressed regret, stating he had no intention of disrespecting any woman officer, the Army, or society. He said his words were spoken in a moment of excitement and patriotic fervour, and he apologised for hurting sentiments.
