Quepem police register case over alleged circulation of woman’s private photos

Quepem police have registered a criminal case against a man for allegedly transferring and circulating a woman’s private photographs without her consent. According to police officials, the complaint was filed by a resident of the Ambelim area, who alleged that the accused unlawfully copied objectionable photographs from her mobile phone to his own device without her knowledge.

The incident reportedly occurred last year near Poilem, Quepem. The complainant further stated that the accused later threatened to share the photographs through social media platforms, causing her distress and violation of privacy. Based on the complaint, police have booked the accused under relevant provisions of the Information Technology Act and initiated further investigation into the case.
