Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginaldo on Monday met members of the Muslim community and assured them that a delegation would meet the district Collector on Tuesday evening to appeal for the reopening of the Sunni Gulistan Masjid at Gogol.
The mosque has remained closed following a recent incident at its entrance, and the continued closure has caused concern among local worshippers.

Speaking after the meeting, Reginaldo said he has taken note of the community’s grievances and emphasised the importance of restoring normalcy while ensuring peace and harmony in the area. He added that the delegation will request the authorities to consider reopening the mosque at the earliest, in keeping with law and order requirements.
Members of the community welcomed the assurance and expressed hope that the issue would be resolved soon so that regular prayers can resume.
