A mysterious disappearance in Uttar Pradesh’s Auraiya district has triggered rumours and a widespread police search. A 20-year-old woman from Singanpur village reportedly vanished from her room overnight after going to sleep on Sunday. According to family members, her mother discovered the bed empty the next morning, while the woman’s clothes and jewellery were neatly placed on it. Adding to the mystery, a nearly five-foot-long snake skin was found beside the belongings, fuelling speculation among villagers about supernatural involvement. Some locals even spread rumours linking the incident to the mythical “ichchadhari naagin.” Police officials, however, have dismissed such claims as baseless and urged residents not to believe in superstition. Ajitmal Circle Officer Manoj Gangwar confirmed that a case has been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and multiple teams have been formed. Investigators are examining call records and digital evidence to trace the missing woman.
