PANJIM: Directorate of Education has warned of disciplinary action against teachers in aided schools, who leave the country for private employment abroad, without prior government approval.
The department has directed that teachers, who want to go on leave, will have to apply 30 days in advance and proceed on leave only after it is sanctioned and not otherwise.
“It has come to the notice that many of the teachers and non-teaching staff working in private aided institutions are leaving the country for private employment abroad, without obtaining prior government approval and thereafter seek ex-post facto sanction of the government,” Education Director Gajanan Bhat said in the circular. “This action of the employees is against rules and liable for disciplinary action,” he stated.
Bhat said the employees can proceed on leave only after it is sanctioned and not otherwise. The Director said that henceforth proposals for such ex-post facto approvals will not be entertained by the office and will be rejected.
