Goa minister Vishwajit Rane has asserted that he is prepared to mobilise significant public support from Sattari if the situation requires. Speaking amid the ongoing debate over casinos, Rane claimed he could bring as many as 45,000 people to Panjim to demonstrate backing for development initiatives.
The minister emphasised that projects related to public welfare must not be delayed due to political disagreements. He maintained that any movement aimed at halting development would ultimately harm the broader interests of residents in Goa. According to Rane, the focus should remain on practical governance rather than creating roadblocks to progress.
Referring specifically to the casino controversy, Rane remarked that removing such establishments without a clear alternative plan could leave Panjim economically and socially affected. He suggested that stakeholders should adopt a balanced approach that considers employment, tourism, and urban management.
Rane further advised that any charter of demands submitted to the Chief Minister should include workable solutions alongside criticism. In his view, constructive proposals are essential for meaningful policy decisions. His comments come at a time when the casino issue continues to generate strong political and public reactions across the state.
