Taxi associations in Goa have demanded that the government first scrap the GoaMiles before moving ahead with further discussions on the ongoing taxi issue in the state.
Members of the associations stated that any meaningful dialogue with the government can only proceed once the app is withdrawn. They argued that the continued operation of the platform has been a major concern for traditional taxi operators.
Association representatives also said they will consult other taxi groups across the state to gather suggestions and opinions on the matter. The feedback collected will then be presented before the committee that is expected to be constituted soon to address the issue.
Taxi operators expressed hope that the proposed committee would consider the concerns of all stakeholders and work towards a solution acceptable to the taxi community as well as the government.
