Captain Venzy Viegas met taxi owners and drivers from South Goa to hear their grievances and discuss issues affecting the tourism taxi sector.
During the interaction, members of the Tourism Taxi Ambassadors group expressed their willingness to maintain transparency in operations and emphasised that they want to conduct their business peacefully.
The taxi operators raised several concerns related to their livelihood and the functioning of the tourism transport sector. They also called for fair practices and clarity in policies that affect taxi services in the region.
Capt. Venzy assured the taxi owners and drivers that their concerns would be taken up with the relevant authorities and stressed the need for constructive dialogue to resolve issues faced by those dependent on the tourism industry.
The meeting highlighted the importance of ensuring a transparent and peaceful working environment for taxi operators in South Goa, particularly as tourism remains a key source of employment in the state.
