CCP Elections 2026: Babush Monserrate Panel Sweeps Panaji Corporation Wards

The panel backed by former minister Atanasio ‘Babush’ Monserrate and the Bharatiya Janata Party registered a sweeping victory in the elections to the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP), winning the majority of wards in the civic body.

Among the winners, Yutika Zambaulikar secured victory from Ward 1, while Carolina Po won from Ward 2. Margarida Fernandes emerged victorious in Ward 3, and Rohit Monserrate won from Ward 4.

In Ward 5, Kishore Sastry registered a win, while Bento Lorena was elected from Ward 6. Ward 8 was won by Kareena Shirodkar.

The only ward not won by the Babush-backed panel was Ward 7, where Leonid Furtado of the Ami Panjekar panel secured victory.

The results indicate a decisive mandate in favour of the Babush-backed candidates in the Panaji civic body, giving the panel a strong position in the functioning of the Corporation of the City of Panaji.
