Large-scale panic buying of LPG cylinders was reported in parts of Vasco, prompting authorities and local representatives to appeal to residents to remain calm and avoid unnecessary hoarding.
Krishna Salkar assured the public that there is no need to panic, stating that adequate LPG stocks are available and supply is being managed.
Meanwhile, Gopal G, the in-charge of a local gas agency, said that around 300 cylinders were delivered on Thursday. He added that the agency had an opening stock of about 700 cylinders and that two additional truckloads of cylinders are currently in transit to meet the demand.
Authorities have urged consumers to avoid panic buying and to book cylinders as per their regular requirements to ensure smooth distribution of LPG supplies in the area.
