Mormugao MLA and SIDCGL Chairman Sankalp Amonkar on Friday congratulated Chief Minister Pramod Sawant after Goa secured the second position in the Fiscal Health Index 2026 released by NITI Aayog.
Speaking during the launch of works related to the relaying of the sewer line and reconstruction of chambers at Bodga, Amonkar said the ranking reflects the state government’s focus on financial discipline and development. He praised the leadership of Sawant and stated that the recognition at the national level highlights Goa’s strong fiscal management.

Amonkar also expressed confidence that the BJP would replicate its “Panaji-like victory” in the upcoming Ponda by-election and perform strongly in the forthcoming council polls across the state. He credited the government’s development initiatives and infrastructure projects for strengthening public trust.
The event was attended by local residents and party workers, where traditional rituals were performed before the infrastructure work commenced.
