The Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of Goa Customs at Manohar International Airport has seized 23.832 kilograms of hydroponic weed (cannabis) valued at approximately ₹8.34 crore in the illicit market, in a major anti-smuggling operation.
According to officials, five individuals have been apprehended in connection with the case. Of these, two passengers had arrived from Bangkok via Muscat, while another had travelled from Abu Dhabi via Muscat before landing in Goa on March 25, 2026.
Authorities said the contraband was recovered during checks at the airport, following which the accused were taken into custody. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the source and intended distribution network of the seized drugs.
