The inspection of the proposed Tarkar jetty at Khammamol in Curchorem has been postponed for the third consecutive time, raising concerns among local residents.
According to sources, the inspection was scheduled to take place on Thursday but could not proceed as planned. Officials stated that the concerned CO was on leave, and charge had been handed over to the Deputy Collector of Quepem.

During the process, the company managing the site allegedly did not open the main gate to allow broader access. The Deputy Collector permitted entry only to the complainant, Sushant Naik, along with municipal staff, while media personnel were not allowed inside.
Local residents present at the site demanded that at least 10 representatives be permitted entry to ensure transparency. However, officials denied the request, citing law and order concerns.
Following discussions between authorities and locals, the inspection was postponed once again. The denial of entry and repeated cancellations have led to growing dissatisfaction among villagers, who are now questioning the transparency of the process.
