CM Pramod Sawant Hails Defeat of Rare No-Confidence Motion Against Speaker Om Birla

Pramod Sawant has welcomed the defeat of a rare no-confidence motion against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, calling it a reaffirmation of the strength of India’s democratic institutions.

Referring to the motion considered in the Lok Sabha on March 11, 2026, Sawant noted that such motions against a Speaker are extremely unusual in Indian parliamentary history.
